1. Wash before first use
Give every new piece a gentle wash before it touches your baby's skin — muslin actually softens with its very first wash.
2. Machine wash, cool water
A regular cool-water cycle is all it needs. No special settings, no fuss.
3. Skip the fabric softener
Muslin gets softer on its own with every wash — fabric softener actually reduces its breathability over time.
4. Air dry when you can
Line drying keeps the fabric at its best, but a low-heat tumble dry works fine too when you're short on time.
5. Iron on low, if at all
Muslin rarely needs ironing — a light shake after drying usually smooths it out. If you do iron, keep it on a low setting.
6. It's meant to be used daily
This isn't a delicate fabric to keep folded away — muslin is built to be washed, used, and washed again, for years.
